I've tried just about everything, and I've found adsense to be the best - I now make my living with adsense

Other people will say different things - that's OK, as everybody's site and method of promotion is different, and something else may work better for them

Stephen is right. Adsense is great. Especially if you have not yet earned any $ from your blog. It's a great place to start. Also depending on your niche, I like to find CPL (cost per lead) affiliate opportunities. Those have worked well for me.

my wife turns between 2-3k a month from commission junction on 70k visitors. same site has adsense and only produces $400-600 per month. - CJ ad is more prominent.

I love adsense. I think adsense is the best way to earn money online. This is hundred percent scam free.

I would also recommend adsense if you are just starting out. When you get a good blog with regular traffic you can start starting for sponsors yourself.

Commission Junction handles affiliate programs for many companies. I am curious: does your wife advertise for many companies? If so, how does she do it? I mean, how could she include links from many companies on a web site while still maintaining some focus? A page would turn into a page of affiliate links in no time.
