Do you use Squidoo?

I have read that some people use Squidoo for bringing traffic to their own website or blog. Others just use it for making lenses (pages) on the net.

I use Squidoo, and have made several lenses so far (14). I like it because it as modules that help people who don't know HTML very well make their lenses better.

Does anyone else here use Squidoo? What you you think about it? Do you like it?

I have used it althought not very much. I have solely built one lense through it. I actually used it to try out whether Squidoo lenses automatically generate traffic but they don't, at least that's my experience.
In order to earn money through Squidoo lenses you need to have a lot of them and to also promote them. Do you earn money through Squidoo? Do you get traffic through it?

I've built about 8 lenses over the last 3 years - as a test - and like you I found them to be not much use

I did however make 2 clickbank sales from the lenses - but still not worth the effort

Like you say, you have to promote the lens with backlinks - so why not just make a site of your own - at least it will be worth something after a year or two - then you can sell it on flippa.com for $500 to $1,000 dollars - maybe more

I've used Squidoo for back links only and I don't even no if they are do follow or not. Haven't looked at it for over a year.

I have no luck using squidoo too. No traffic and my lens kind of abandoned since i never update or anything anymore.

I don't know why but i don't like squidoo. Maybe because of little success in the past.

Just googled it and at the moment it looks like too much effort for my blog....

I am a giant squid which means you have to have more than 50 lenses. I make an extra $10-$20 every month without doing anything and for some of my target markets and keywords my squidoo lenses are on the front page of Google whereas my regular websites are not. I also do find that my traffic has increased because of them but like a few of you said, they are a lot of work and so I have stopped created new ones or making any major updates and I'm focusing on facebook, twitter and blogging instead.

I have 2 leans so far it complete with video modul and alot more ,unfortunately squidoo give me something that I expect ,this squidoo event not becoming new link for me, I quit squidoo and move to hubpages

I have not had any success with Squid - built some solid lenses and promoted them but they have generated 0 traffic and do not show in my back link reports to my sites.
