Default Blog traffic exchanges, do they work?

I'm considering spending something on advertising, 500 hits can be purchased for 5$. Should I try this? I realize that many clickers are not paying attention to blogs, but still, 500 hits.

Also, in general, what was your experience with blog traffic exchanges?

Thanks

Where do you go to pay for advertising for your blog? Can you tell me more about what you mean?

meh, it's really easier to keep posting and hope Google hits your blog fast. Plus Google search traffic is free. It's well worth the time it takes to get good traffic.

I guess what I am saying is that it doesn't make much sense at all to buy traffic that isn't really interested in your blog. Stumbleupon will do the same thing FREE, provided there are people out there that like your content.

You can give me the 5 bucks and I could get you 500 clicks as well, even without knowing your content, I bet I could get targeted visitors to you.

Good luck with your venture, but I would stay away from spending money on traffic.

Will this be enough? This is really my problem, I'm worried I'm not doing something extra that will help get traffic. I intent to post daily on my blog, and I realize it takes time. I don't lack pacience.

Beware of link farms and traffic exchanges. If Google finds your site linked to them, it can adversely effect your ranking.

There are more things to be worried about, like what is posted above, than there are with just posting content that search engines will find.

I haven't purchased a lick of traffic to my blog and with over 500 posts I have 2000+ uniques per month. I know that is NOT a lot, but it's free and suits my blog just fine.

you need to focus on long term traffic, short term traffic like $5 is like throwing away your money to garbage, alternatively you can save this money for article content or keyword research service,

What do you suggest I try? So far I entered my site to a few blog directories.
