Always interesting to read others peoples views on how to gain Twitter followers. Personally i believe that the value in twitter lies in the community and peoples participation in that community in a constructive manner.

It might take longer, but if you take the time to interact with the community you will benefit in the end.

There is no way to get massive amounts of followers quick, at least not legitimately and at least not real followers.

What you will get is loads of spammers/bots/automated accounts following you back. You'll get 100 spam auto DMs a day. You won't be able to find the people who actually provide value. You'll waste your time.

This guide, like the hundreds-thousands like it, will not help you understand twitter or find any value in it. In fact, it will only hurt your efforts.

The real trick to getting followers on twitter? Take your time. Be a good pointer by sharing great content that is interesting and sharable. Be personable and entertaining. There are many different ways to use twitter but anyone who tells you they can get you thousands of followers quick can't really help you though. If you really want to use twitter to drive value to your blog, it takes time and work, like anything else.

There's a ton of value in twitter if used right. It's the top driver of traffic to my blog, it's the reason I have a following, I have a job, I have a network and more...
