I am going to make a bumper sticker with my website name on it. I figure for $4.00, I will be able to catch the eye of thousands of people that I do not know. The website is zazzle and you can create your own bumper sticker (actually all kinds of things) and I am sure there are other websites that do the same thing - or even your local printer. Anyway, I thought I would share that idea.

haha, a friend on another forum got one of those huge car decals (like 3x4 feet) and had one on each side of her car. She also got stickers for her rear window. My hubby would die if I "decorated" our minivan - ha! You got guts. Go for it!

Hey simple offline promotion techniques like that can be incredibly effective. How about while you are at it: 1) Write your website URL in pencil on every piece of money that passes through your hands. 2) If you read library books leave a scrap of paper with your website URL on it in the book as a bookmarker. 3) If you live near a beach write your URL in big letters in the sand. Does anyone else have any interesting offline promotion ideas?

| Everybody keep them coming! I'm sure that you all can think of even more great offline site promotion ideas. It isn't all about backlinks. Offline promotion can be effective, perhaps even more effective to get real, live visitors who will be interesting in your blog.

I tried making a few posters with URLs on the tear off tags, and got a few regular visitors for it. If I did it again I would probably print off a particularly comment-worthy blog post instead of general blog information, and give people the URL to 'Follow the Discussion' or 'Have their say'. I did learn that a lot of people don't really know much about blogs.

Might try 2) the next time I'm at a bookstore.4) Leave flyers folded in origami pieces at random public locations with your website's url noticeably written all over it. 5) Try no. 2) at internet cafes as well.

| I've done something like that before. If you use a public computer when you are done open your blog in the browser and leave it open so that the next person to use the computer sees your blog.
