Angry Adsense HELP!

Hey everyone I'm having a problem with Google Ads and I wanted to see if any of you understood what's really going on.

On my blog at Http://www.RationalRant.com I can put Google Ads on the posts I use and I'm also trying to use a plugin called Ad sense Manager which isn't working by the way =p. Essentially what's happening is that only public service ads are appearing where as I'm looking for the content focused ads.

On Googles Adsense page they describe that if they cannot find any content related ads they will just post the public service ads. However even on my larger posts that are 2-3 pages long there are still only public service ads being posted.

I have recreated the ad 4-5 times and I'm still getting the same result, does anyone know why?

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance,

-Gungnir

Thumbs down Re: Adsense HELP! - Unbelievable!

it's unbelievable that you missed something so basic

your site has no title, description or keyword metatags on the pages

sort that out and you will get somewhere with adsense

I don't know how to add these things because I'm using wordpress. I am not expierenced with how the Title, or Metatags work. I did use keywords on all of the articles though. Is there something I'm missing?

Seriously don't insult my intelligence, I came on here to ask for help after hours of searching. Coming on here, swallowing my pride and admitting I don't understand how this works shouldn't be merit for insulting me. Why is it that you're on here? Obviously not to learn anything.

you need to have metatags/titles/description for google adsense to correctly target your website for their ads. so if they are blank, google can't get any feedback so it displays public service ads. In wordpress, I THINK, go to the bottom where's there are settings. I think it might be under general settings. You can change the title/add description/tags etc. And/or download the plugin "all in one seo package" good luck

Hey Gungnir strike,

Like the above mentions you need to pretty much "optimize" your site to make the most of the rankings. Another thing that you need to understand with adsense is that it shows ads based on geographic locations. So it depends on where the advertisers in Google prefer to advertise. Example I have a product and I only wanted to show it in Canada. So basically it wouldn't show on other locations except Canada. I hope you're getting it.

Public Service Ads are ads that you dont get paid for.. and instead of Google showing no ads because there's no advertiser for that certain location, they just use these types of ads.

Go with this or another WordPress SEO plugin. Also on the post page you have the ability to write tags without a plug in if you don't want to add the plug ins... But generally the plugins are easier to use.

I do learn stuff on here now and again, but I was a full time SEO for years so most things I already know - I spend my time on here helping other people - but beginning to think I'm wasting my time and that it's a lost cause

To complain that you spend ages messing about with your blog and couldn't get paid ads to show, and not know something as basic as the need to have titles, descriptions, keywords got me real mad

all-in-one SEO free wordpress plugin will sort out your metatags for you

Listen, I appreciate the help you attempted to give. However it's pretty irrational to claim you're a SEO "expert" and at the same time think you're wasting your time. You wouldn't be wasting it if you knew a better way to approach people.

It helps a lot when you're trying to help people that you approach them in a manner which doesn't insult their intelligence, the simple fact that a person asks for help is another way of saying he doesn't know as much as you do. SO TAKE IT AS A COMPLIMENT.

Seriously, nothing personal but I think it would help you out a lot to read this book, or listen to the audio book.
Amazon Amazon

It looks corny but I got a lot out of it when I read it.

Thanks for all your help guys, much appreciated =D

I wish I could help you. I am a total idiot when it comes to this stuff and I have no idea what steps I did but somehow pushed all the right buttons and they showed up immediately with appropriate content. The color is not great, but at this point I am afraid to touch anything - lol!

I do know I googled every which way to get help and finally came up with the right combination. I am not sure I even put key words on every post.

Hopefully someone will help.
