I don't know if I'd put your twitter thoughts at the top of your stream. Maybe hide it at the bottom. Twitter is great for random thoughts, but they kinda turned me off - you know, I'm a prudish momma. Think about your audience, your talking about money, that's a pretty broad audience. I'd try to be more thoughtful so as not to offend, or hide it somewhere so I have to look for your random thoughts... Love your translator! Great idea! I should get one!

Free Nuts - your site was what I dreamed about finding when I was a college student; I'm still on the look out for free! Love your topic area! I'd ad some graphics though... It's kinda bland on your front page... also, maybe a tag cloud or a categories menu. It is a bit hard to find/read older posts by a topic that might interest me. Another thing, alot of people like to follow through facebook and google friend, you might get more traffic if you networked through them as well.

Fundy's blog - It's nice to travel with you on your poker journey. Your blog looks kinda canned. If you have some time customize your page a bit, put some pictures into your posts, add a widget that will make your long posts into excerpts. I know nothing about poker and would love to see pictures of games and stuff...

The 1337 - Same thing as Fundy. Your blog looks canned and I think it is even more important for you to be graphically "fresh" as your topic area is "TV and Celebrities". You need to include some pictures.

Snaeem - Like your blog. I think this really explains how you have to reach out to your demographic. People interested in law aren't really interested in graphics (where people interested in TV like pictures). Your blog is very well written, love the excerpt format, love how you nested your pages, how easy it is to navigate between pages and find something I am looking for, I even love how your ads are not "in your face". Great blog!

Karthi... - I have a widescreen monitor and your page stretched "funny", made reading slightly less user-friendly. Love how easy it was to navigate between topics. Your posts are titled really well, very SEO-friendly!

Swaby - Love your layout. Your images really seem to fit the post too! It's like you know what you're doing. Would love it if YOU could review MY blog! Your blogger quick tips (as well as almost every other post on there) is really beneficial, a must read for all new bloggers! My only complaint is that I couldn't find a way to follow you through Facebook, Networked blogs or google friend (my favorite ways to follow). I am following via twitter.

Kate - well, first I should probably preface this with, I'm a mom who is constantly thinking of the worst case scenario, married to the IT head honcho for a city. There have been numerous times that he's helped HR link a blog back to a person when they've said something inappropriate about workmates, or something illegal. I'd be hesitant to put all your thoughts about co-workers, friends, family, etc, out there in the public. It might come back to haunt you, or embarrass/irritate the wrong people. Your blog was interesting, but I am probably a bit more like "May".

Okay, all, I've reviewed your blogs! Sorry I had forgotten about this thread and not kept up with it! I'd love it if you would reciprocate by reviewing my blog, leaving comments or better yet follow me!

Thanks!!!

Thanks for reviewing my site. I've put up some graphic images for my social media in addition to the text links you couldn't find. I did visit your site and things look pretty good. My questions to you are:

1. Are you making any money from the ad banners? There's a lot of them and they clutter the place up a little. I would remove the worst performing ones and maybe sell ads yourself or create a product to sell like a cookbook from your contributors or some such item.

2. If you're only getting 100-150 unique visitors a day, I think you should spend some time on marketing. A site with that broad a topic and that many contributors should be doing a lot better than that. I see you got a tip from my site on outbound links, so try that for a while and see how you do. I'm getting a lot of traffic right now from optimized images. Make sure you take advantage of that as well.

Thanks again for reviewing my site and joining my Facebook business page.

Karthig - Looks great! Your site is much easier to read now! Thanks!

Swaby - thanks for taking the time to look over mine. The ad banners are from people who have or will sponsor one of our giveaways. So far we are not making any money from the site, but my numbers of unique visitors a day are rising. I'm now getting between 200 (weekend) and 400 (Fridays) visitors. I will remove the old banners though! And move a few of the other ones to the "about" page. Thanks!

If you could tell me 2 ways to market the site (with an hour or two a day) what would they be? Currently I use facebook and commenting on other blogs to drive traffic. They keep me pretty busy. Is there something better I can be doing?

Thanks!!!

It can give you more traffic as they can send local people to you and you can help them out too. Kent looks like a gorgeous place to live. The only thing I would add is a link for older popular articles in the dead space on the right, or a drop down categories list, or a tag cloud, or something. I think it might be more useful than a calendar archive... and most people don't want to scroll and scroll to get to good reading. Let me know if you want widget suggestions. I can send you the links to the widgets I use.
Hi QuirkyMomma - thanks very much for looking at my blog. I'm glad your son liked the pics. I've just posted some more as it happens. My son is also mad on trains (he's only 2) and especially Thomas.

Kent is certainly a great place to visit if you are ever this side of the pond.

I have started to put "if you liked this post you may also like...." at the end of my new posts linking back to articles in my archive.

I'll have a look at your blog and leave a comment.

Thanks again

Glen

QuirkyMomma--

I went to visit your site. First, I have to say that the content is great! I'm probably going to be a more regular visitor from now on.

That said, I find the flashing and blinking and cluttered look to be a bit much. I would like it better if it were decluttered and less distracting as people's eyes tend to be drawn away by things flashing and blinking on the periphery.

Also I think it would help if your colour scheme were a bit more unified. If you're going to go with green/white, make the links the same colour and the buttons, too.

I would appreciate your take on my site when you have time.
