Default Re: Tynt Tracer - Keep track of people copying stuff from your blog.

Even with it just being a burst, it's still really awesome to be able to see all the stats lined up as to what's being copied, etc.

And a side note, do you know where it pulls the site screenshot from? For the QJ site, it pulled an image from several months ago. The template shown is from several months ago and the post that's on the front page in it is from 8 months ago. It's not from Google's cache because that's definitely been updated since then, and I've never used the tynt site before. Are they an affiliate with another site that might've already had my screenshot on hand?

I really don't know. You might check the URL of the picture and see if it tells anything. I know there are a lot of services that generate site screenshots. BlogCatalog does, and Technorati and others have their own screenshot services.

Edit:

It is a flash application so I can't see where the picture source is from. However, my screenshot is up to date, within the last 24 hours, so whatever the service is it must have just crawled my blog or at least just added me.

Yeah, the one for my cooking site was up-to-date, showing today's post. It was just weird to see QJ's so outdated like that when it's so active and constantly being browsed by bots here or there. *Shrugs* Oh well.

It's not available for blogspot users it seems.

It worked perfectly for me the very first time. Must have been a brief glitch.

*Giggles* This is too fun/interesting. I'm loving being able to see all these details about what people are copying.

Yeah, I think my favorite is the part about which words are copied most often. It has a graph showing the distribution of words copied and which words are copied most often.
