CTR?

I currently run a blog devoted to guitars, but no more precise than that, everything guitar. I know guitars are quite a wide market, so am I limiting my chances of getting a decent CTR?

Google will match their ads to the topics of your blog.

Just target each blog post at a different keyword (electric guitars, acoustic guitars, etc.)

As long as the ads are specfic to the post then you should be fine. I would not worry to much as your niche is quite large (I think) and also in my view your chosen niche people are always needing things for there guitars.

I love it when I get guitar ads, music ads or anything technology related. For some reason google keeps giving me ads on how to get visas and sell stocks online. Not really appropriate for my target audience.

Become Young has a good idea, make different posts very targeted to the terms you wish to earn on. Some terms are worth more than others.

Perhaps do reviews of Guitars (not sure how in practice, assuming you can play, but need access to guitars to review), as others do reviews to computers/lap tops.

I just took a look at your home page and can't tell what your target audience is - so how can google?

get some categories in the sidebar, and start posting to relevant categories - then you'll start creating some theme for google adsense to work with
