I'm ultra new to this whole thing. How do you even go about getting an advertiser to invest in your site?

Most of the time they'll find you. You need provide value aka traffic or people of interest finding you and they feel that your traffic could make them $$$.

Good luck and remember, every site that earns $$$ started at one point...

Hey cool, thanks for the feedback. We have a humble beginning going on. We have had about 400 visits in 6 days. Seems like a decent start.

hi rob,
unfortunately it dosenot really happens. i have a pretty decent site, 1400 page views a day, 52k alexa, but so far i have not got even one single advertiser...

Agree. Unless blog is famous, advertisers will rarely find you.
Approaching advertisers (and offering ultra low prices for first month, so that they can see results) can be a good option!

I registered with Nuffnang who gets the advertisers for me. My the money is 'small'. 5 months and all I have is USD6 thereabouts. Meanwhile I've also made USD6 from EasyHits4u, a traffic exchange. At the rate I'm going, I doubt I'll ever get rich from blogging.

If I've learned anything about blogging so far it's that patience pays. I've been blogging for a couple of weeks and after lots of promoting am finally seeing an increase in readership, I'm sure the same holds true for monetizing your blog.

The truth of the matter is that it'll take six months or so before the blog really gets going and advertisers start coming in.

I've found that with my site Inkweaver Review, after I passed the first year anniversary I started being approached by publishers and authors that wanted books reviewed on my blog. So I think that one year is really the turning point as well.

Blogging is a long term project, especially long term if your goal is to make money.
