What are you doing to promote? If you get 50+ hits daily doing no promotion, then I bet you could greatly improve that. It takes time and work, though.

Your first need is strategy. Do you have any kind of promotional strategy? Guest posting? Commenting? Anything?
Second, do not use sources that are not useful e.g. traffic exchanges, one line comments.
First, cool down, take time to make a good promotional strategy and work on it. For example, my promotional strategy is to write 3-4 guest posts per month and it has worked fine for me. I have PR 3 now!

Thumbs down Re: I am getting frustrated with blogging

I took a look at your job vacancies site - the problem is immediately obvious - the post titles!

here's one - "vacancy" - how crap is that?

when you click the link you get:

Vacancy

Head of marketing
Computer operator

OND and BSC in relevant fields

Apply to springclean05@yaoo.com

where's the company name, where's the location, who's yaoo.com anyway?

very sloppy - you don't deserve any traffic

Question diets blog - where are the categories?

this site is a lot better than you vacancies blog

however:

you have only 1 category - and its only got 2 articles in there!

the articles in your only category are dated February

come on - get some keyword based categories on the site - and start posting the articles to the most relevant category

@info helper, the only thing i do to promote is submit my site to directories .
@ischan how do i do guest post? where do i go to write the articles?
@TTBT for the weight loss site its about once weekly while for the vacancies its about eight to ten posts a day
@stephen todd, actually ithose vacancies are exactly how the owner advertised them so i dont even know the companies myself. For the diet blog, i stopped putting them in categories cos someone said if they are in categories, google would mark them as duplicate if i can upload a robot.txt on my site, which i dunno how to do

Exclamation categories and content

re.

unless you have sufficient info to create a good title and post then you are simply wasting your time - if people don't provide enough info, then ignore them and move on to the next submission

if the title had been "Computer Operator Vacancy, Laos" you can see how you stand a chance of getting search engine traffic for computer operator, computer vacancy, computer vacancy laos, etc.

your chance of getting ranked for "vacancy" is nill

re.

blogs create duplicate content anyway, so using categories is not going to make any difference - google is going to take one instance of the post - and it may be from the home page, category page, single post page - you have no control over it - but don't avoid using categories, as they are what gives a blog its theme - vital for SEO

you've been given bad advice - start using categories - and don't bother about adding/modifying robots.txt - you're using blogger - don't you think google will provide a suitable robots.txt file for their own blog platform?

You definitely need a strategy, or a plan per say.

That said if you're in a HIGHLY COMPETITIVE niche aka lots of $$$ you gotta break out from the crowd and be DIFFERENT if you want people to pay attention.

Hmm...is there a thread where there is a benchmark for how much traffic in a well read blog? Have always wanted to know the statistics.

And would also like to know the benchmarks for the different types of blogs: personal and public (big time).
