Default Manual Posting Versus Short Auto Content

I feel like I'm chasing my tail - I decide on a strategy and then abandon it within days

I've abandoned the pulling in of news feeds to create blog site content - the posts are simply too short

I like full text feeds - but they're simply too rare now - I can easily spend an hour looking for one - and the likelyhood is that there are no suitable full text feeds to be found - I reject a lot because they also contain lots of headlines only, without even a snippet of post text

so I'm trying something different - pulling in spun articles and saving them as draft - then manually posting 2 or 3 of the best ones each day

I now feel this is the way to go as I'm now echoing my blog posts to 6 social network sites - and have noticed an immediate spike in spider activity - about double what it was

I don't like spending hours doing something manually that can be automated - but until I can find some alternative, that's what I'll be doing

Why would you pull in external content rather than writing your own? The best results are obtained by writing your own articles, not copying stuff from other blogs or sites.

I did it purely for hands-free income

until it ground to a halt with over 30,000 blog posts one of my wordpress blog sites was averaging about 40,000 visitors a month - and generating adsense and clickbank income

in the end I just restarted the site from scratch - but it was good until I killed it

I've had as many as 30 sites running at a time - no way can I write that content - and earnings from adsense and clickbank isn't going to pay enough for me to hire writers - so I'm currently posting other peoples articles

this isn't a hobby for me - its my sole source of income - so I have to do whatever is most cost effective

I'll jump back into hands-free auto-content as soon as I resolve the short post issue

Hmmmm, sounds like a way to make money, if not a very ethical one. I doubt that most people want you just copying their content and making lots of money off of it.

that's an understatement!

they get hopping mad - which is why full text feeds are now so rare

I've not done it myself but I know someone who used to build sites backwards:

1/ find full text feed
2/ build site round it
3/ collect lots of lovely adsense income

people kept emailing him to complain he was stealing their work - technically they were giving it away, and should have had a copyright notice in the feed - but its tricky legal ground - and he stopped doing it

Stealing all of your content could also lead to your whole site going supplemental. Original content is better.

You are stealing others content and then asking us for help! Whatever its named, pulling feeds and then publishing on own blog(without permissions) is content theft!

Better stop it!

I think you should definitely write your own stuff, people will be more inclined to read it.

All original content is copyrighted on the internet automatically. It is theft if there is no notice allowing you to use it, or you don't have written permission.

currently the spun articles I'm manually posting come with reprint rights

RSS feeds is a murky area - some have reprint rights - i.e. if I used ezinearticles.com RSS feeds - other feed are stated as being for "non-commercial use" - however most RSS feeds have no indication as to their usage

the guy I know was crossing the line - as full text feeds are so rare, he was basically taking a single persons entire site content and duplicating their site for profit

as I said he's stopped doing it now - he got so many email complaints he accepted he was doing wrong
