Site Flipping Or Affiliate Marketing?

I noticed lately that most bloggers within the internt marketing niche either talk about making money with site flipping or affiliate marketing. So i thought its interesting to ask people's opinion on whether what is the one they prefer or do best.

Personally I prefer affiliate marketing because I've never done flipping websites. Anyway, I have done a post on my blog about the comparison and also had a poll on it so I do hope you vote...

I'll reply to this but i'm going to reply and poll on your blog! I'm just starting up on affiliate and adsense. So what i can say is that site flipping with my old company brought in over £1000 a month. It never lasted though because, my friend who did the web design went in another direction because i couldn't get enough business. i'll blabber more in a comment on your site!

This may be a really stupid question ... but what is site flipping? I've never heard the term before.

hello dude... site flipping is creating a niche websites then selling it..

It really depends on how you want to make money online in the long term. Affiliate programs may be the way to go if you see a potential for your blog.

Why not do both. Feel it out if you can make a good income on affiliate for a certain niche do that. If you don't' think you can / takes too much work for the revenue don't bother. You can also buy distressed established sites. Fix up a new theme. Do some promotion and flip it that way. You don't always have to start from scratch.

@bloggeries, I agree but flipping sites is very saturated right now and even if you do list an auction on sitepoint, in less than a day its already on the second page... Most people don't do affiliate marketing because of high startup income. If anyone does, more likely they'd quit after a month or so...

flipping is not a long term solution... build sites, get them profitable, then build more... harness the residual power of the interweb

most people are saying site flipping is needed so much because a lot of entrepreneurs want a site that is ready to go but I think thats not the case...
