Just curious as to how liberal you are with your blog roll? Will you do reciprocal links with anyone you befriend or does it have to be specific to your niche? Or like many do you not do blog roll exchanges and only leave them available for sale? If forsale how do you determine price? Alexa? PR? Traffic? ![]() In the past I used to be fairly liberal with my blog roll. Which is bizarre as currently I'm not using my blogroll on our reviews. That may change in the near future though. Rob

Aww.. I recently blogged about this! But the point really is, I blogroll my favourite blogs because they’re my favourite blogs, regardless of whether I get linked back in return. It is my way of telling my blogger friends that I enjoy reading their blogs, though I should also mention that the list isn’t exhaustive. Moreover, with RSS feeds and feedreaders (e.g. Bloglines), I no longer have to rely on my blogrolls for updated blogs. Feedreaders are made of rock and roll! |

I link to sites that are relevant to the post, but I don't actually use a blogroll. I do have a recommended websites page that serves a similar purpose, I guess, and only those sites I'd actually recommend go into it (whether they've linked to me or not). Jay |

I'm a not-so-liberal... I'm more of a dictator, but shhhh.... (real life, I'm a Socialist, so it's okay ) Blogroll are my biggest dilemma. 1) People who linked to me but I'm not a huge fan of their blog : should I link back regardless ? Should I say "thanks" and keep it this way ? 2) People I linked to but who don't read me, comment or link to me : should I keep their link anyway ? 3) People I like but who are in a totally different blog niche : should I include them anyway ? My head. Aspirine. Over the months, I started to add pretty much anyone who would request it and who would drop by once in a while, no matter what they're blogging about. And I'll continue. I have the same dilemma about blog visit. If I visit someone very often and comment as well because I like what they're doing, I'd expect them to : 1) Reply to one of my comment 2) Or drop by my blog, just once If they totally ignore me after a while, I would usually stop reading them. I know, I'm not proud of it |

Very liberal when it comes to personal sites and blogs. However, for the ones i am trying to monetize i stay away from exchanging links..all my blogroll link would be paid on these sites Just dont want to overclutter my links as then the buyers shy away if they see too many outbounds (thats the logic i work with and use myself)

To get on my blogroll you have to have high standards. I don't link anybody (especially fly by night "make money online" sites)
