Default Promoting on Twitter

If you are going for Twitter to promote your blog, you'll need to know this: @TrueFollowers - a list of people on Twitter that will follow you 100% of the time. All you need to do to build your community image is follow the guys in TF "followers" list. And if you want even more followers, add yourself to their list. It will mean for others that you are going to follow them right back. So, most of the visitors of True Followers will probably follow you. It works like magic!

I doesn't sound like these follower are going to be very valuable or quality. I'd rather have a quality follower base.

As far as I understand they are people, at least most of them

Nathan, I have to agree with you on the comment about the quality of followers you can get through TF. But you have to start somewhere. And in some cases having more followers helps others to perceive you as a popular guy. Which, besides your well written tweets, may make somebody to press that button - follow.

Usually I use Twitter's search utility and look for conversations with interesting or related to my industry keywords and try to follow them with a reply. But that takes quite some time to build your list this way. They come to your page see that you have no followers and forget about you. Now, I think I'll run through the list at TF and just add some of them, perhaps a few hundred. A nice jump start!

Besides it depends on whether you are going to be reading or ad-ing. If you are all about a friendly conversations once in a while, then you shouldn't follow too many people for it becomes messy.

I agree, you want quality followers, not just people who are only going to talk about selling their products and spam you to death. Get to know people a little bit. Establish some relationships, and if they like you they will purchase from you, but not if you're seen as a spammer.

I totally agree with you guys. Quality control can be important if you are working on creating a chit-chat group of professionals or just people with mutual interests. Can I see your home pages on Twitter? I'm just wondering how it all works out for you. Just trying to sort out Twitter for myself.

Here's just an example of, what I think is, a successful Twitter campaign: I bet that if you ever visited Twitter, you have seen @waynesutton . And I don't think he can even read all the conversations on his home page. But a lot of people visited his site. And for some reason I think this is what he's set his account to do. (By the way check out his following and followers lists. Go to home pages of people that follow him, his icon will bi displayed there, giving him a link to his profile, and high PR among Twitter pages, and quality links for his post references.)

I guess everybody uses Twitter for different reasons. I wonder how many reasons for using Twitter there are...

I don't know - I'm always impressed when someone has a few thousand followers - I think "they must have good things to say" ;-)

Seriously if you want to gain followers on twitter. Look for someone who is following MORE people then being followed and just add some the latest people to follow them.

That means they are actively adding people to build their count and the people saying "sure I'll follow you back" are social types. It works best if you pick someone who fits these characteristics from your niche.

That is also true! As for the list, (by the way another one for ya @WeDoFollow ) as I already said somewhere: "Sort'em out and follow!" Good luck to all of us on Twitter!
