guys, im on Twitter every day. Twitter traffic really is so meaningless unless you already have a massive following. dont spend time 'consuming' on social media. produce great posts whilst working on yur twitter follow list. if you are just trying to get more and more followers, its not going to necessarily mean traffic to your site.

I have 500 followers over at funnybLErg, and I get perhaps 10 hits to my site. its pathetic... (FYI follow me, I always follow back ;-) hehehe)

Besides it depends on whether you are going to be reading or ad-ing. If you are all about a friendly speeches once in a while, then you shouldn't follow too many people for it becomes messy.

Twitter is like real life. People want to feel that there are two way relationships. Unless you're a celebrity, you'll alienate many people if you don't follow back. Engaging with no follow back is like talking to someone for a while but saying, 'don't call again, don't leave your number, the door is closed.' Furthermore, you don't really have to read every single tweet in your tweet stream.

I recommend that you use twitter organically. The sheer number of followers you have is not really an indication of whether you've had any success with twitter. If you look at The Standard for Online and Internet Influence | Klout, you'll see that the "reach" of a person and their Klout score isn't totally tied to number of followers. You need quality over quantity, and you won't get that with a plugin/widget/or program like "tweet big."

Blogging/tweeting is like everything else, success is slow, and must be earned. You must earn each and everyone of your readers, by winning them over with unique, well written, and meaningful content.

badly if you require to gain followers on twitter. Look for someone who is following MORE someones then being followed and just add some the most recent people to follow them.
