Low Interest Blogs?

I blog about pinball. It's something I enjoy and I'm passionate about the subject, but it's a niche hobby and never gonna set the visit counter on fire! Trouble is there's pretty much NO other blogs about pinball and I don't want to have random link exchanges with non-relevant blogs/sites.

I suppose my target audience is limited, but is there a way to find the people I want to read the blog, rather than just get traffic for the sake of it!

sorry, meant to add I currently get 50-100 hits a day, which I think is pretty good for a specialist subject.

I've been blogging since November 2007, but it's only recently started to build up a bit of traffic. I'm nearly at 10,000 all-time hits. Somedays it gets more hits than a website that I run an adwords campaign on!

What is your blog? I just posted in another thread how to add your signature. It's in USERCP top left.

That said you may have to broaden your search. Try other classic arcade games that someone who enjoys pinball may also enjoy... That type of thing.

I didn't know if I was allowed to mention the blog when I was under 10 posts. It's in my signature now (thanks for the tip!). I use stat counter which shows some people are finding the blog from google (and similar) but most are typing the domain in direct or clicking links from other relevant websites I have.

A site like yours is going to get almost all your traffic from Google. People will find you when they search for pinball. The key is to try to rank #1 for pinball or very close to #1. In your case, SEO is going to be much more important than social media traffic.

However big the audience for pinball is, ranking near #1 for "pinball" will get you as much of that audience as possible.

User your links as a status message in IM
Add link in your signature
use them in specialised forum, find the site in which your targeted audience do interact. show your link over there.

Definitely join some Pinball forums if you can. That would be a great source to help you get going I believe.

yeah cheers guys. trouble is I'm probably the best known member of the big pinball forums, and it's likely people already on the forums know about me and what I do. It's trying to let other people know there's a whole community of great people and lots of stuff going on that's my desire!
