Default You Comment--I Follow Movement

I just added this to my sidebar: the "You Comment-I Follow" badge. You can see it at: Blog -Blond

This movement fits nicely together with the I Follow movement, so my badges are placed together.

Default You comment I reply Movement on Blogs

Interesting concept however I'm not sure I understand the you comment I reply movement . However if this simple question is correct than I do understand. I noticed when I clicked on the button that I went to Ordinary Folk - Music, An alien named Gummy and a boatload of rambling. so I'm assuming he was the last person to leave a comment on your blog? If not could you please clarify how it works as it seems like quite a novel idea.

Join the iReply movement! » Ordinary Folk

The above link is where I landed after clicking.

Rob

Default Here's the answer to your question:

"My buddies from MeAndMyDrum and Brown Thoughts and myself have put together a simple idea for a new movement in blogging. If you’re a blog author who believes that it’s important to be active within your own blog community which you’ve created and reply to as many comments as possible, our new iReply movement is for you. Display our little button and let your readers know that you appreciate what they have to say and won’t just ignore them.

Simply save our button up there on the left, upload it to your server and either link to this post or create a new post of your own talking about the movement and why you support it. Easy enough, right?"

Basically, the thought behind it is that when someone makes a comment on your blog posts, you will do your best to return the favor and respond to them, either by leaving a comment on their post or by leaving a comment on yours about what they said or whatevah.

I do this as a matter of course on my blog, often replying in my blog and commenting on their blog, too.

I never knew I was part of a movement! ;-)

I notice that style on logs of popular blogs. Definitely keeps the readers coming back. Everyone also likes to know that their comments and opinion was heard. How many blogs would you say you actively comment on Jay?

I'm around 3-6 blogs I'd like to increase that.

There are about three or four blogs I comment on because I'm a regular reader, and have something to say.

Then there are another half dozen I comment on because the people who own them frequent my blog. I'm not extremely regular on this last bunch, unfortunately, and some of the half dozen change from week to week based on new people popping up in my blog.

I've got about fifty blogs currently in my RSS reader, and I pop new ones in there as I find them or as their owners visit mine. I don't get back to the RSS reader nearly often enough, but now and then I make a sweep through and comment on posts that catch my attention.

I tend to focus a lot of my commenting on new blogs, figuring they need the interaction and encouragement more than established blogs.

Jay

I comment on almost all of the blog in my feed (about 30), although I don't comment on PPP post. If I don't have anything to say... I don't say it, but that's only occasionnal !

I try to visit the blogs of those who comment on my blog. If possible I'll return the favor. I've found it's good way to show your readers that you care and that you notice their input.
