So basically askimet spam plugin for wordpress has it out for me.
I ALWAYS have my posts thrown into spam even when I've done nothing spammy. It's gotten to the point that I don't even comment anymore .Bloggeries or Bloggeries Forum contact - - bloggeries.com http://www.bloggeries.com or http://www.bloggeries.com/forum Also Home Business Blogger or Blog contact -- bloggeries.com Home Business Blog how to make money from home and small businesses They almost always get caught... The Last one I'm thinking maybe it's b/c the email is a different domain? But for Bloggeries I'm totally lost and discouraged. Anyone have any ideas as to why I can't get through a spam filter?

One thing that I noticed is that you don't have any meta tags.
I was looking for them to see what keywords you were pushing. That may not be your problem but adding them certainly can't hurt. Here's a meta tag analyzer Meta Tag Analyzer - RankQuest.com Free Search Engine Optimization Tools Google does not use the keyword meta tag but it does use the description meta tag. Yahoo along with many other older search engines use both.

I'll look into that. Thanks for bringing that up on a few levels lol.
One thing. I was talking with Adsdaq customer service and bloggeries immediately went to spam as they thought it was a blogspot. Seams BLOGX tends to get caught. I'm assuming maybe thats why askimet blocks me as they assume it's blogspot. Could be a far stretch or right on the money either way it's unfortunate for me as I love commenting.

This is weird... On my blog, Akismet works great, blocks all the spam. I also moderate first time posters - I thought it would make sense.
But two of my regular commenters always end up in my spam. It's annoying for me and for them, since one of them thought I didn't like his comments, it lead to a small misunderstanding. They both have Blogspot blogs, but nothing remotely spammy about them. I don't get it...

Akismet learns from its mistakes, mark the comments "not spam". After a few comments Akismet should start allowing the comments from your friends.

The fact that they are blogspot makes sense and backs up what I was saying. Although that was more for a program so not sure if askimet but I can't think of any other reason. I've always had my bloggeries domain askimet'd and it's killing me.
Anyone else with bloggerX getting caught by askimet?

Akismet isn't learning in my case... I keep on ticking the "not spam" but even twenty times later (since the two commenters are quite regular) it still tag them as spam.
Mystery to me...

I had this problem with my domain, too, though of course it's not blogx or anything. I think possibly a previous owner had been A Bad Guy because it was like that from the start, though it took me several days to figure it out.
HowTo Deal With Akismet False Positives Nutshell of the post: had a few people mark me "Not Spam" but everything I've heard mentions this "takes a while", no timeframe given. Akismet has a contact form (NOT using Akismet, so you can request help using it when Akismet hates you!) and I made a comment on the Akismet blog, too. Later I found a contact form on Matt Mullenweg's site and gave it a shot, too.Akismet False Positive Problem Resolved Got a super quick response from Matt and WordPress.com support and now I'm able to comment normally. Note also that this was on the pre-Christmas weekend, so the response time was way better than I expected. I don't know how long the "Not Spam" route takes, but having somebody actually check on it seems a pretty good option. |

Thanks for the insights Robert. I'm going to go for option #2. Are you implying that askimet refers to a central server for a black or whitelist type thing?
