Widgets Yay or Nay

Personally, I hate them, their annoying and they restrict what you can do! Sometimes they really fuck up your site. Unless all widgets are coded right you can also end up with some really dodgy markup!

I'm torn. Some widgets get on my nerves; other widgets I think are pretty cool. I think it's which, how many and where they are placed .

Which ones do you particularly hate Han?

A while back ago a WP plug in for polling made duplicate pages of all my content. Not a good thing for search engines.. I don't use many widgets, needless to say!

Them all, I've never used a wigitised theme, it limits what you can do to a certain extent because as soon as you try to add another plugin that isn't a widget to the sidebar you mess up your widgets!

Getting your hands dirty with the codes is better than dragging around boxes. Nuff said. I hate widgets as well

I have a few widgets...

• Shiny stats counter
• The mybloglog widget (I like to see readers' pictures !)
• The Flickr pictures widgets

That's all I can have without my blog being too messy.

It's a real pain when you visit a blog and it doesn't load properly because of widgets !

Hi Zhuli I check your blog. Its pretty nice I am wondering how you have setup this. I am really new into blog, so I don't know how to make the site look good. I know html little bit but blogger does not support ftp upload for html files.
So I am only able to edit what is only given there. Will you help me how have you done this. The page looks so nice. Well I can write some rich contents.

I wouldn't say that I can't live without widgets because that's not true. But widgets do make my life so much easier!
