Article submission used to be very popular. If you are going to submit to article directories. I'd recommend you make sure the content is indexed on your site first, than republish it slightly different on a handful of top directories. Forget the automated spammy submission methods. It will be much more effective if you post a few slightly modified ones that obviously link back to your blog.
