Dawn, what a nice way to start out blogging! Good job on layout, design, content, and style. Added to my feed reader. A couple of constructive comments: One, remove your email address off of your "About" page because it just makes you a sitting duck for spammers; they'll harvest that off that page and it'll be UGH soon enough. I would also remove the "Meta" section of your sidebar; that's useful for YOU as the owner, but not for anyone else, leaving it there looks amateurish and invites someone to try to break into your blog admin page.
Otherwise, good stuff. One of the best I've seen.
