Well, I would say self-hosted Wordpress because there are a lot of options you can use the blog for... for example, other than blogging, I know a lot of people who just use it as a landing page for affiliate marketing or even to build a site for site flipping... I mean, I've done it before and I continue to do it.
But it all depends on what exactly you want to do with it.
