Hi Pelf,

Thanks for your comments. I've been on forums like this before as well and if you start useless threads with little response you won't make any money from the program. The key is starting good threads that will encourage people to participate. Another good method is to start threads that are to legitimate problems and make it keyword rich. That way people coming through search engines will find it and are more inclined to click on an ad anyways as most members don't click on ads because eventually you just become blind to them. I will be keeping a mindful eye for totally useless dupliate threads but as mentioned earlier since they will get few clicks it quickly loses it's appeal. Basically if you have a good question or discussion start it; you will get your answers and it will hopefully pay off

Thanks for your thoughts,
Rob

I am a member of another forum-like community where members who start a thread are automatically given 3 points, and if they respond to any existing discussion, they get 1 point. I'm not so sure what those points are for (I think they're still working at it) but at least the "system" recognizes people who are active, instead of people who are "active starting new threads".

Plus, they do have people who carefully monitor and manually remove duplicate or similar threads and threads that are started with the sole reason for promoting one's blog (but of course you can exclude posts in the "Show Off My Blog" forum because that's the sole reason behind it).

Just my contribution though =)
