Talking Read This Before Posting!!! - How to Keyword Search Engine Optimize Your Forum Posts!

You are about to read a thread which could have an awesome impact on the bottom line of your blog!

Whenever you start a new thread I recommend you visit:

Free Keyword Suggestion Tool (Wordtracker Suggestion Tool & Overture Bid Tool Combined) & Keyword Generator

Type in a keyword you would use for the title of a post and see which search results are popular. Bloggeries is so well ranked in many search engines that if you target a keyword or phrase which is related to the post or more likely related to your blog you can indirectly end up high on search results. I'm talking first page here! It pays to take a little extra time to search engine optimize your forum posts for the keywords that best describe your blog! Make sure you include the keywords you are targeting in the sentence you form for your title and mention it also in the first paragraph of the posts body. Then just write away normally without sounding like a sales pitch. Don't make assumptions about your readers interest in the topic.

Use this forum to help market yourself and network with other bloggers; that is what it is here for. This site will only continue to get more relevant the more we all use it so it's a win win. Use the technique you just read about and if done correctly enjoy some quality targeted traffic. Also try and post in as many threads as you can contribute to because each thread is another backlink. Also if something you need help with is not addressed already please create a new thread. I'm sure a few fellow bloggers would be glad to help answer any questions you may have.

On a final note when choosing the term to target try and get one from the middle of the pack to start; especially if your site is new. If you go for the top few the competition is fierce. Better to be on the first page for something searched 50-200 times a day then page 20 for something that is searched 20,000 times a day!

EDIT: Here are some examples of GOOD Thread Titles and BAD Thread Titles for SEO.

GOOD:

Sydney Australia Real Estate Market Blog
Making Money Online with Affiliate Marketing Blog
World Travel and Exploration Blog
European Cultural Blog
Deb's Retail Shopping and Bargain Hunting Blog
Golf Instruction and Online Golf Lessons Blog

Basically use descriptive terms and if you have a short name throw it in the beginning. Search engines and people in the Show Off Your Blog section don't know what your blog is about so describe it to them in the title. Then try and use similar terms in the first paragraph. Bold them if you can. This will bring you more exposure immediately and forever. Period.

BAD:

Check This Out
Review New Blog Please
Look at Blog
Have a look at my blog
Tell Me what You think
Seeking Criticism
http://www.yourblogurl.com
http://www.yourblogurl.com review please

These will not bring in interested people via click or search engine. It doesn't say enough about what you're about. Someone in the section may even be a fanatic about your niche but if you don't tell them what it is how are they supposed to find you??

Think descriptive... Think descriptive...
