It would really all depend on what you want from your mic. What situation you'd be using it in and how many people would be using the same microphone.
Also your budget is a major factor.
If you are in a studio environment and your set up will be stationary, then a Ribbon Mic is probably your best bet, but they are quite expensive, from £100 upwards but you will get really good results and have many people using the same microphone. I couldn't reccomend any certain make, sorry.
As far as moving coil mics are concerned, the SM58 has become, pretty much an industry standard for venues, at £50-60. but you will probably need one per person.
Just remember that you get what you pay for.
