Most of us have at one time or another attempted to lose some weight, whether we try to lose a lot or a little is all individual. Today’s blog is going to look at just that concept, feeding into a huge demographic of the public that is trying to lose weight. The blog is called the Weight Loss Guide and is found on its own domain at and is a blog geared to provide guides and tips on how to lose weight healthily. This blog provides educational information on different products for losing weight as well as plans and strategies and nutritional facts. The bloggers are dedicated to ensuring you lose weight faster, healthier, and in more reliable and natural ways than you have tried in the past. You can see this for yourself through any of the most recent bloggeries: How to Find the Best Weight Loss Program For You, Get Rid of Cellulite with Cellulite Cream, Choose the Right Vegetarian Food for your Vegetarian Recipes, Easy Weight Loss Tips, Starting Over yet Again: A Guide to Successful Weight Loss. and a List of Fat Burning Foods.

The blog is a very busy site offering many navigation systems that almost make the blog a little too busy. There are a couple of top navigation bars, a navigation system within the header, and a double sided navigation system as well. In the top navigation bar you will find Featured Articles, How to Lose Weight, Weight Loss Diets, Weight Loss Products, Weight Loss Programs, Weight Loss Research, and Weight Loss Tips. Bloggeries are left marginalized in black text on white background, and the blog has very newspaper style theme to it. In the left sided navigation bar you will find the Pages Menu, Categories Menu, and a Recent Posts Menu. In the right sided navigation bar you will find a multi-tabbed menu that includes Popular Posts, Most Comments, Search, and Archives Menu showcasing the two months the blog has been active. In this navigation bar you will also find the Recent Comments Menu.

As it stands right now, there is little I could offer this blog in the way of improvement, and thus provide a score of 5. The blog is very young, and like most new blogs is enthusiastic and has a lot of new material thus maintaining consistent activity. Navigation is very easy on this blog with its many navigation bars, all of which contain a wide range of blog meat thus keeping blog readers moving through the blog at a steady and consistent pace. The appearance of the blog is slightly overwhelming because of this, but overall the organization works well. I do suggest some more pictures on the main page of the blog to avoid the newspaper style look that appears very texty with little relevant pictures. The content of the blog is well researched and well written in a user friendly voice thus adding even more appeal to the blog. Overall, this is a blog with a hot demographic that should do very well over time.

Bloggeries is going to look at another personal blog today, and this blog is known as The RhodesTer Chronicles. The Rhodester Chronicles, as the header tells us, is playfully pondering the universe in a strong personal voice on this personal bog. The Rhodester Chronicles is found on its own domain at and is a blog that literally chronicles all that is good, funny, or interesting in the life of the blogger. The blog is lacking an About page, but you can get to know the blogger better through any of their recent bloggeries: The 4th of Julie, Bad Boys, The Prestigious Palm Springs Savant and Co., RHODES? Where are we going?, A Brush with the Law, VLOG! Yes, VLOG, and WHOA, Like…..

For best navigation the blog is best viewed through Firefox, but overall the clean template of the blog design offers ease of navigation. Bloggeries are left marginalized, and are in black text on white background with links highlighted in blue. In the right navigation bar you will find Subscription Info, Categories Menu, Recent Comments Menu (known as Snarky Remarks), Archive Menu (known as In the Vault), Recent Viewers widget, and some blog directory widgets. Because the blog is a personal blog and is much ado about anything, the Categories Menu contains a little bit of everything relevant to the blogger in categories such as quest Posts, Hall of Fame, Hollywood DAZE, Perilous Pics, Raving Reviews, and so much more. Each bloggery is accompanied by at least one, but generally several, relevant pictures that add meaning and humor to the bloggeries.

Overall this blog gets a 4.65/5 as it is organized well and has a unique flavor to it. From a content perspective, the content is fresh and written well enough to make me laugh out loud, and was an enjoyable read, however a higher score here would happen if the activity was a little more consistent. Currently the blog is being updated every few days, and daily activity would more than likely get this blog close to perfect. The appearance of the blog is well done also, with a clean template and a wide variety of colors and pictures and no advertising to offer distractions. From a navigation standpoint the blog is well organized to ease navigation, however I would suggest the blogger add an About Page, as otherwise it is very difficult to determine the purpose of the blog. This blog is very creative and I appreciated the unique touches in the side bar with its quirky menu titles that offer a humorous tone to the blog, a tone that blends well with the blog content. All in all, the content will push this blog far, as the Rhodester Chronicles was an enjoyable blog to read, and it should do very well.

Bloggeries is going to look at a blog in a unique niche today, and the blog is called the Avelient Bio Pharm Blog. This Bio Pharm Blog is run by Mariano Di Fabio and Scott Alexander, who have a wealth of experience in this industry. Mariano blogs with over 10 years experience as a consulting professional in the Pharmaceutical industry, and he joined with his business partner Scott to create Avelient. Avelient is a a project-oriented, full service IT Solutions Provider, specializing in team-based service delivery for Pharmaceutical companies in New York and New Jersey and the blog is a reflection of their work. The blog is used as a forum for readers to discuss ideas and opinions in the industry. You can see this for yourself through any of their recent bloggeries: $10,000 Health Challenge to Big Pharma, Back to Virtuality, Spurious Motivation, Drinking Other’s Prescriptions, Morphing Blood, and Professional Lab Rats.

The blog offers a clean layout and design which ordinarily would make navigation easy, however there is little blog meat on this blog making navigation cumbersome. Bloggeries are left marginalized in black text on white background with a beige border. In the right navigation system you will find a tag cloud, a Biopharm Books and Products menu, Directory Widgets, AdSense, Blog Calendar, Contributors Menu, and Related Groups Menu. While I see a lot of interesting information related to the niche located on the blog, I do not see many features that the blog could use to connect with its readership. Things of this nature would include Recent Comments Menus, Categories Menu, and general blog meat. Each bloggery is also very textual with little to no pictures associated within the bloggeries, making the blog a little to informational. In order to lessen this effect, some graphics within posts may help.

Overall I give this blog a 2.4/5 as it is a good blog just seriously lacking in several areas. From an appearance perspective, the blog is far too texty, and while it offers a clean layout, some graphics would add to its appearance. A graphic here and there would do wonders to interst the first time reader; I couldn’t even find an image to attach for this blog review… Content wise the blog does great with well written content that the readers can connect to, however, activity is hurting this blog as well. This blog has two bloggeries from June on the main page, but nothing more recent than that since April. This kind of activity is not enough to sustain a readership and the blogger needs to get on the updates. The blog offers a unique enough niche that it can target with more consistent content, and with a few tweaks to the navigation and organization of the blog, it could develop a healthy readership in order to see some growth and success.

Bloggeries is going to look at another personal blog, and this blog is called Pinoy Dreamer. Pinoy Dreamer is a blog that ‘started in dreams, and ended in reality’. The blogger is a 20 year old blogger from the Philippines, and is currently working on his CPA. He has been a writer since elementary school and has always enjoyed writing essays, sports reviews, and more. The blogger wishes you will join him on his quest of making his dreams a reality. He has started from scratch and has not gained anything yet, but is still dreaming that his efforts will not be wasted. He wishes you will join him and together he and his readers can make their dreams a reality. You can see what he means by this by checking out any of his most recent bloggeries: The after grad sentiments, Extending My Traffic Sources, PDmo#2, I’m Back, No More Monthly Hosting Bills for Me, I’ve Spent $7.15 for a New Blog, The Making of a CPA: Some Useful Tips to Consider, and How to Properly Account Your Blog’s Income Part 1: Recognizing Revenue.

The blog does have somewhat of a busy theme, and this compromises its navigation somewhat. The blog offers a top navigation system, as well as two right marginalized navigation systems. Bloggeries are left marginalized and are in black text on white background and the blog theme and animations almost have a comic book theme to it. In the top navigation bar you will find links to the Home page, About, About Me, Contact Form, Free Pinoy Blog Reviews, Privacy Policy, and a Sitemap. In the left sided navigation bar you will find some advertising and a categories menu that contains categories such as Blogging Issues, Business, Games, Humor, Internet, Lifestyle, Opinion, Politics, Religion, and more. In the far right navigation bar you will find the blogroll, Archives Menu, and Recent Posts Menu. Moving down you will find this blog also offers a navigation system in the footer. Here you will find quite a bit of blog meat that you may have missed such as Recent Posts, Recent Comments, Most Comments (Top Commentators), Recent Readers widget, Popular Entries, and more information about the blogger.

This blog will get a 2.6/5 for now, but I attribute this primarily to the fact that this is a fairly new blog and with some time and some tweaks this blog will do well. From a navigation standpoint the blog is a little disorganized with so many navigation systems. The top navigation bar offers two about pages, and one should be deleted to maintain a professional look. In the first about page the reader is taken to a standard wordpress page and this should be deleted. As for the about page itself, I am not quite sure what this blog is about. It appears to be a personal blog, but the blogger only writes about making dreams a reality and does not quite specify what the intention of the blog is. The blogger needs to clarify this for his readers a little bit. I did find more information about the blogger in the blog’s third about box, which is located in the footer of the blog. Unfortunately I did not see this until well into the review, and this may affect the blogger’s credibility with its readership if the readers can not connect fully with the blogger. Moving this will improve the visibility of the blogger as well. The content is well written and in a strong personal voice that readers will identify with, but activity is weak with content coming in with a week or more in between bloggeries. For such a young blog, I do recommend much more regular, if not daily, bloggeries to bring in traffic and to sustain the credibility of the blogger. This blog however does offer a lot of potential, and with a little organization it could be a very good blog for its readership. Finally I noticed many ad spots available; you may wish to try our blog directory affiliate program.

Bloggeries is going to review a humorous personal blog today, and the blog is called Blogstress. The blogger is affectionately known as Aunt Bloggie, among many other nicknames, and blogs out of Istanbul, Turkey when not living in Baltimore, Maryland. Besides working at his day job, you will find him blogging at Blogstress and playing bass for the Turkish Rock Band sensation called 45 Degrees. From first glance it appears that the blog is a question and answer blog, with questions being submitted by readers and answered by Aunt Bloggie. Questions range on everything from Shakespeare to blogging, and you can see this all for yourself through any of the recent bloggeries: Aunt Bloggie Versus Sententious Drivel, Aunt Bloggie Feels More Alive, Aunt Bloggie’s “Ask Aunt Bloggie” Contest Give Away, Aunt Bloggie Knows You Know She Knows, and Delete or Not Delete?

The blog is fairly new, in fact not quite a month old yet, and contains little blog meat. While this does make the blog seem a little scarce, it makes navigation somewhat simple. Bloggeries are left marginalized and are in black text on white background with headlines highlighted in grey, and links in bold black. There is a right navigation system containing the Archives Menu in pull down format, Blog Directory, Blogroll, Recent Posts Menu, and a Recent Comments Menu. Otherwise there is little contained in the blog, and bloggeries have small images of a woman working at her desk, theoretically to symbolize the image of Aunt Bloggie. Otherwise, the blog is primarily textual.

Overall the blog gets a 2.8/5 at this point, however the blog is so new that perhaps with some time and growth the blog will improve. The blog is containing very little blog meat and this is affecting its overall readability. Starting off, it is very difficult even to tell what the blog is about, and thus, what it has to offer its readers. Two components would assist readers in this, a Categories Menu and an About Page. The blog currently only offers one of those elements in the About page, but the about page itself needs some work. From the About page we learn more about the blogger himself, and less about what the blog has to offer its readership. As such, the readers may be left questioning what the purpose or overall function of the blog is. Most blog meat is present, but a Categories Menu would organize the blog more as well making the bloggeries more available to the readership in an organized format. The appearance of the blog needs just a little tweaking in terms of fonts that are used, and cleaning up the appearance of the bloggeries. Right now bloggeries are not consistent in terms of fonts used, with font sizes ranging such that some bloggeries are very difficult to read. Also, the activity for a new blog should be much more consistent, daily if possible, in order to attract traffic, and this blog is updating every few days to a week or more in between. The content however is very well written, but because of some of these issues, is perhaps being overlooked by its readers. Perhaps with some tweaks here and there and some growth with time, the quality content on this blog will begin to stand out on its own.

If you are looking for another way to make money online, you may want to stop and check out Online Earning Opportunities. Simply put, this is another marketing blog and offers you user-friendly advice and tips on how to make money with your blog, as well as other opportunities to make money online. You can see this for yourself through any of its recent bloggeries: Entrecard vs. Alexa, ClickBooth – A Review of CPA Site, Kiiji Local Classifieds, BuyBlogReviews.com – Paid to Blog Site, and Earn Money Writing for Encylocentra.

The blog is well organized in a very simple blog theme which makes it easy to navigate. The structure is such that bloggeries are left marginalized and there is a double-wide navigation system to the right. Bloggeries are black text on white background and the theme and border around the bloggeries is a tan khaki color. There is a simple top navigation system for basic pages such as Home, Blogroll, and Contact Me. In the right navigation system you will find on the left side a Categories Menu and a My Blog Log Widget. In the right side, there is a Archives Menu, Recent Posts Menu, Recent Comments Menu, Entrecard, and Advertising. The Categories menu is comprehensive and includes categories such as Affilliate Marketing Sites, Blog/Website Development, Classifieds, Cost Per Action, Link Building, Marketplace, and many more.

Overall I give this blog a 2.6/5 with just a few suggestions. The blog is well organized and the blog contains all necessary blog meat and thus does well for navigation. The only thing I would change there is to combine both navigation bars into one, as currently both bars are only about half full and this leaves a lot of white space on the page. I would also add an About page to one of the menu systems so that the blogger connects a little more personally with their readers and thus increasing their readership. The appearance of the blog does need some work, and primarily this is in the advertising area and header. Nothing says professional like a custom header that is a form of branding. Having blank text takes away from the credibility. Regarding advertising the blog has an ad embedded in the footer of the blog which is very distracting and makes the blog slow to load. The blog also has so much advertising that in some areas it is difficult to understand what is blog content and what is advertising. The word ‘Archives’ in the navigation system is also spelled incorrectly which may seem unprofessional to some readers and it does affect the appearance of the blog. The content however is well-written in an excellent user-friendly tone that readers will be able to identify with and learn from, but if the blogger wants regular traffic, more updates in the form of daily content are recommended.

If you are looking for more ways to make money online, and have not yet found a comprehensive website to do so, then you need to take a look at Empire Dot Com, a blog dedicated to revealing the insider secrets of making money online. This emphasizes with fervence that the dot com industry is one that is only getting stronger. The blogger offers you a personalized about page including signature right on the home page where he discusses how he wants to teach his readers something that will take you and your Internet efforts to the next level. He promises that this blog will give you powerful marketing knowledge that will help you move your business to the next level. You can see this for yourself in any of his recent bloggeries: How to Crank Out Quality Content for Your Readers to Come Back for More, Top Extremely Important and Powerful Tools You Should Have In Your Bag Pack, How to Write Killer Lead that Get your Prospect to Read your Ad, Extremely Powerful and Solid Information Articles to Remember, and The Four Marketing R’s That will Make You a Sniper Rifle.

The blog offers several navigation systems making it very easy to navigate. The top system provides links to Home, Article Resource, Membership, Archives, and Contact Me. A sub top menu offers you Recent Posts Menu, Clickbank Ads, and how to subscribe to the RSS Feed. In the right navigation system you will find Advertising, Entrecard, Recent Comments, Archives Menu, Blog Awards, and a comprehensive categories menu offering you categories such as Affilliate Marketing, Affilliate Tools, Atomic Blogging, Blogging, Copywriting, and Marketing Development among many more. The blog’s appearance is bold and colorful, with large headlines in red and advertising that complements the blog content rather than distract from it. Though there are not many pictures associated with the bloggeries, the blog’s design and template compensates for that.

This blog will get a 4.4/5 from me, as it is an excellent resource and quite accomplished given its youth. The blog is only a few months old, and offers content and navigation that is above par. The bloggers conviction is strong and this is relayed in its content, appearance, navigation and organization of the blog. Bloggeries are coming in daily for the most part with only one or two exceptions, and the content is in a strong, user-friendly personal voice that many marketers can relate to. I do also like the personal touch of the about page with attached signature on the home page, as this makes the blogger readily accessible to his readers. Overall, this blog is an excellent example of how a business blog / internet marketing blog should look like, and I am sure that in the coming months this blogger will see much success and growth with his blog.

Submit Edge is exactly what it means to be in a Search Engine Optimization Blog, and offers you a wide range of tips, tricks, and services for your SEO efforts. There is very little about SEO that you won’t find on this blog. You can see this for yourself in any of their recent bloggeries: Twenty Ways to Obtain Valuable One-Way Links, What Google Doesn’t Know about Spam, How Do I Get Links for my Website, The Future of SEO as a ROI Tool, and Why Deeplinking and Fresh Content are Important.

The website operates as a business, and not just as a blog, and thus offers a wide range of navigation systems. There is a top navigation system dedicated to the company where you will find links to Home, Testimonials, Support, Company, SEO Resources, Affilliate, and Reseller. In the left navigation system you will find a long menu of SEO services offered including Content Writing, SEO, Web Designing, and more. In the right navigation bar you will find a Categories and an Archives Menu. Categories for this blog are comprehensive given its niche, and these include a wide variety of topics including Google Universal, Google Webmaster Tools, Keyword, Link Building, RSS & SEO, SEO, Spam and SEO, XHTML, and SEO Content. The Footer then offers you an additional navigation system with links to Home, SEO Tools, Site Map, Testimonial, Contact Us, Bulk Discount, Partner, and SEO Tips Blog. The overall design of the blog is appealing with bloggeries in black text on white background and a bright blue border and theme. Most of the bloggeries are textually based, with very few pictures associated.

I give this blog a 4 /5 for now, for me it was missing a few vital pieces of blog meat. The appearance and navigation scores for this blog are very good with its organized template and clean design. The content of the blog is well written and for the most part in a user-friendly voice that the average Internet reader can understand. Activity is doing very well with bloggeries coming in daily. Some key blog features that would benefit this blog would be menus such as a recent posts menu, and a recent comments menu. These menus both offer some connectivity to the readership, and as well provide additional ease with navigation. I also don’t see an about page. While it is fairly obvious what the blog is about, to offer SEO services, blog readers do enjoy reading about pages and this is yet another tool blogs use to connect with their readership. It provides a more personal connection between the writer and the reader. Also, this blog is reading more like a business website with services to sell rather than as an informational blog with an interest in sustaining readership, so I do think that the addition of some features to connect with the readers will improve the ‘blogability’ of this blog. Otherwise, for all intents and purposes it looks and reads like an excellent blog and should experience much success.

If you are looking for another blog that may offer you some fresh and professional opinions in the world of website management, have a look at the Nomad One, a blog that offers you advice from a strategically focused, ethically motivated, creative professional. The blog is found on its own domain at and is owned and authored by an independent design and web consultant. The blogger is a designer and graphics expert both online and offline, and also works in communications and marketing consulting. He sees himself as a nomad, and is constantly migrating towards ‘a positive sustainable future’. He feels he has a responsibility towards humanity to add value to others lives, and to be beneficial to people in order to help everyone create a beautiful future. You can see this for yourself in the nomad’s recent bloggeries: What’s this about then? About Us Pages and Their Purpose, VeloCITI Session #3 – An introduction to Finance, The benefits of a Free Wordpress Website for Startups, Time to Refresh my GTD Approach with GTD inbox for gmail, Springwise: See-saw power for Schools, Wordpress Meetup #3 Planning Gains momentum, and The Benefits of a Free Wordpress.com blog for startups .

Navigation on this site is interesting, as this site’s appearance looks more like website than a blog per se. There is regular posting, and these bloggeries are left marginalized. Generally left marginalized blogs offer a right navigation system, however there is no right navigation system here and this space is left blank on the blog. There are navigation buttons on the header to see services the blogger offers in design for web, logo, print, illustration, animation, and advertising. The footer offers a navigation system where you will find social networking contacts, What I’m Doing menu, Search bar, Archives Menu, and a blogroll sorted by categories such as sustainability, creative, web, and so on.

I am giving this blog a 3/5 and primarily because this blog reads more like a resume and less like a blog thus affecting its blog score. Because the blog is focused on promoting the blogger’s career and services, it is lacking a lot of the blog meat that makes a blog interesting to read. This ultimately may be affecting the blog’s readership. Appearance scores need help here as mentioned mainly because of the empty sidebars. This leaves a lot of empty space on the blog that the blogger could use with some necessary blog meat. The blog could use some menus such as a categories menu and recent posts menu for example to beef up the blog a little. I also think the about page could be better read to indicate more what the blog offers as opposed to what the blogger himself offers in terms of services. It is difficult to tell for example, other than resume purposes, what the blog is offering to the blog community. The content is well written however in a personal user friendly voice there, and if this is maintained the blogger will connect with his readers well. However the activity is lacking with bloggeries having several days in between posts, and regular traffic will be more likely with regular activity. Overall however, the blogger clearly has a lot to offer and if he organizes his blog a little bit better, he will be able to communicate that clearly to the blogosphere.

Bloggeries is going to look at another personal blog today, and the blog is the chronicle of The Quirky World of Jessi. Here you will find a place for Quirki Jessi’s odd thoughts, quirky ramblings, random pictures and nothing more or nothing less. The bottom line for content at Jessi’s blog here is that, if it would cause a lot of “needed explanations to my mother….then I’m not posting it here”. Given this, you will soon see that this is an all and everything blog that Jessi finds quirky or interesting. You can see this for yourself in all of Jessi’s most recent bloggeries: Meet Me (and all the other bloggers) at Bloggeries, Unsent Letters – Quirky Style, Quirky’s Inbox – Can You Tell the Difference Between a Horse and a Frog?, Play Pacman Online!, Check out Ferox, This Dog is All Decked Out… In Scuba Gear!, and PJC – You’re Toasted.

The site is fairly well organized making it easy to navigate. Bloggeries are centralized and there is both a left and right handed navigation system. Bloggeries are dark blue on an almost fluorescent blue background, and links are highlighted in a deeper shade of blue. In the left navigation bar you will find the About Page, Subscription information, Archives Menu, Tag Cloud, Other Places to Visit Menu, Quotes, and a Writing Tip of the Day widget. In the right navigation system you will find a widget for Jessi’s Quirky Lurki, a blog pet; What Quirkiness is Jessi Up to Now?, miscellaneous blog widgets and some advertising. Every bloggery is accompanied by a relevant picture that adds meaning to the blog and the accompanying bloggery.

Overall I give this blog a 3.7/5. This blog scores fairly good on most criteria though could use a little work in some areas. The blog is easy to navigate with two navigation bars, however there is not much in the navigation bars leaving a lot of empty space neat bottom of bloggeries. Adding a Categories and a Recent Posts Menu would definitely help in this area. Content is well written and interesting, and Jessi writes with a strong personal voice that readers will connect with. The activity however could use some work as bloggeries are not consistent, and coming in every couple of days to almost a week in between. The blog is a unique blog with a fresh spin on the personal / humor blog and thus scores well in that area. Overall, this is a fun blog to visit if you are looking for a getaway and something a little unusual and quirky in the blogosphere.
