rate5 Cyber Music Your Guide to Music in Cyberspace Blog ReviewIf you are looking for a sort of off the beaten path music blog, this may be just the one for you – Cyber Music. Cybersmusic is a blog featuring the best music from Americana, Blues, Classic, Rock, Country, Funk, Jazz, Latin, Metal, Pop, and you name it, it is there. You will also find some excellent running commentaries and favorites from the blog writer who classifies himself as a classic rocker. This self-described rocker has over 20 years experience in the music industry including being club and radio DJ for Warner Elektra Atlantic Record Sales, marketing, promotion, as well as a long history of being musically inclined himself. You can get a true flavor for this writer’s interests, as well as his keen ear for music through his recent posts: Warner Music Group & PremiumTV create video digital hubs, McCartney Thursday Night Live
Macca Plays Electric Ballroom, Clapton & Winwood Find Their Way Home, Memory Almost Empty @ Starbust, McTwee & Memory Almost Full Debut @ Starbucks, Other Tributes to Sgt. Pepper’s Album, and Sgt. Pepper’s in a flash.

story.beats.love.lkl Cyber Music Your Guide to Music in Cyberspace Blog ReviewNavigation on this site was great. In fact, it is one of the best laid blogs I have seen yet. There was one slight formatting issue on the front page, where the right sided navigation bar seemed to have dropped a little low on the page, but this glitch is minor. The posts are left marginalized, contain excellent content and catchy titles, and all have relevant links and newsworthy mentions in each of them. On the right side you will find a navigation menu to take you to the archives of the blog. This is an excellent feature of the blog. When you go to the archives section, you will get a full text link to each post in the archives. This way you don’t have to search for a needle in a haystack if you like to go through archived posts. I love this, it makes the blog so much user friendly, and wish I could see this in more of them. Scrolling through the categories you are going to find different links for genres of music, CD, Digital Downloads, DRM, DVD, Festival, Internet Radio, iPod, Lessons, Live Gig, Ringtones, and many many more. On the right sided bar, you can also visit other music blogs that are of interest to the writer and may be of you as well.

I am going to go ahead with 4.5 on this one, only because that formatting glitch on the front page is really distracting. However all else are all systems go. The content is very well written, and I love the interludes of news in between posts. Headlines are extremely catchy, and the Paul McCartney new album post/experience and posts like this really make this blog stand out from other reviews of the same album. The navigation is very well done (but for the glitch) and the activity scores are very high as well. I look forward to more updates from this site.

Plasmetic – Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Guide and News – Bloggeries Review

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

rate5 Plasmetic Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Guide and News Bloggeries ReviewHave you ever wondered what it would be like to get a nip here, a tuck there? What are all the ins and outs of cosmetic surgery? What is involved, how much does it cost, is it even worth it? Here is a site that will answer all of those questions and more . This site has the beauty conscious in mind and will cover the latest in plastic surgery, botox, implants, liposuction, tummy tucks, brow lifts, and lasik surgery. They also review spas on a regular basis and will be the first ones to tell you who to see and who to avoid. To top it off, they offer you the latest research in the industry, as well as industry related trends and technology. Some of their recent posts include Old spa treatments resurface in the Czech, DNA Diet for a great look, Hydrafacial – A new rejuvenation option, Nordic Walking, Facial aging is not the result of gravity, Man boob woes, Symlin Pramliptide – Diabetic Drug aids in weight loss, The latest from Japan – Eyelash wigs, and Brazilian surgeon’s endeavors results in ‘lipotourism’. I really enjoyed the credibility of this site, they back up almost everything with solid research. An interesting post for example was “DNA Diet for a Great Look”, where recent research shows that you can have your DNA tested to find out what foods you should/should not be eating. Gotta love technology. If you are on the squeamish side, you want to avoid the “Man Boob Woes” post, I don’t think I need to say more, do I?

plasticsurgery Plasmetic Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Guide and News Bloggeries Review Navigation on this site is ridiculously easy. Posts are left marginalized with appropriate pictures and standard black text on a white background. There are two right sided navigation bars, one is almost entirely a categories bar, but you will also find the About menu, contact links, and the RSS subscription. The far right bar contains recent posts links, and here you can subscribe to their newsletter. The site further has a top menu for more ease of navigation, and here you will find the home link, forums, about link, how to advertise, and contact information. The extent of the categories is so comprehensive, I won’t mention them here. Suffice it to say there are over 1500 posts on this blog, and whatever you can think of for a cosmetic surgery category, it is there I assure you. Even better, you will find a category section devoted entirely to different locations for major metropolitans in the States.

This blog earned a 5 from me. It contained all of the necessary elements to justify this, frequent postings that were unique and well written. Consistent activity and a layout and navigation system that was extremely user friendly. They also have a sizable readership and excellently laid out pictures that are very useful in this industry. Normally at this point I am offering suggestions, however, I can’t think of anything that would improve this blog. Clearly plasmatic.com is doing very well and wish them continued success!

DVD Spin Doctor Home Video News and Reviews – Blog Reveiw

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

rate5 DVD Spin Doctor Home Video News and Reviews Blog ReveiwIf you are into movies, you are going to love this site. This site is designed for the couch potato DVD buff, the DVD Spin Doctor, consider it “Adventures in viewing and reviewing” from the author Glen Abel. The site is dedicated to ensuring you are in the know about all that is good and evil in the world of DVD’s and brings you just about every last tidbit of information you could want regarding DVD’s. You will find here DVD reviews, home video news, upcoming DVD’s, technology reviews, and industry information. This wealth of information comes to you from Glen Abel, an L.A. writer who has credits to his name such as The Hollywood Reporter, Reuters, and a wealth of global papers that have shared his work with the world. He is well-versed in the DVD world, is one that gets a first look at many, and knows what is what in the industry – and his DVD blog certainly reflects that. His DVD reviews focus on the DVD, how they look and sound, and he plays an emphasis on the bonus materials. I have to love that, I never take the time to watch those, perhaps he can enlighten me on what I am missing? He prefers DVD’s that deliver artistically, and you can see this in his wealth of reviews you will find on the site.

night watch blog dvd DVD Spin Doctor Home Video News and Reviews Blog Reveiw Recent posts include “Night and Day: Russian Tales of the Supernatural”, “Meet your dream movie reviewer”, “DVD Reviews: True Grit, Rio Bravo”, “Week’s Top DVD’s”, “DVD Giveaway: Fired!”, “Today’s new DVD’s: Leone, McQueen, and Clooney”, and “Blu-Ray special: $499 player from Sony” among so many more. One of my favorite posts, “Meet Your Dream Movie Reviewer” will let you take a critic’s test to see which famous movie reviewer you are most in sync with. No longer can you have the loveseat arguments with your companion, see if someone else in the know actually agrees with you on how bad that flick really was! You will have to check out the post to find out more….

Navigation on this site is so simple, and given how much is included here that is pretty impressive. Posts are centered down the middle of the page, and there are both left and right sided navigation bars that are replete with links that will have you roaming and reading for hours. I could lavish pages alone telling you what is included here, but in the honor of time I will leave you a tidbit. On the left sided bar you will find links to the five most popular reviews such as “The Departed”, a full index to all of the reviews on site, a host of contact information on the author as well as his about page and additional blog. Check out some ‘Deja-Vu’ Reviews such as the Good the Bad and the Ugly, or if you are a true diehard then take some time out to see what other DVD bloggers are talking about. If you are shopping around for a new place online to get your home DVD’s, you will find a host of links here as well. On the right, you will find the wide assortment of categories this blog offers such as Academy Awards, categories for movie genres, recent posts links, and DVD theme pages.

This site is getting a 4.5 from me, near perfect. The only thing I would change here is the presence of advertising. I think this blog deserves its readership, and thus, any monetization from it. However I would move the right sided AdSense bar a little bit lower and keep content at the top of the page so that ads are not the first thing people see when they open the page up. This blog is definitely unique and certainly distinguishes itself from other DVD blogs, and the navigation is very easy. Further, it is attractive and appealing in design and there are plenty of appropriate pictures, and just enough as well. The content definitely scores very well also with phrases such as “Nixonian customer service” proving that you are fortunate to be reading an excellent blog from an accomplished writer. If you like movies, bookmark this one, there is something new everyday for you.
